On the 7th of September 2024, the Zambia Women in Engineering Section (ZWES) hosted a High Tea event at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Lusaka, bringing together a community of female engineers and professionals.
Dressed in the event’s theme of "all shades of pink," IoDZ President Mrs Mirriam Chiyaba shared insights on Leadership and Resilience.
As a seasoned leader herself, the IoDZ President shared her journey, emphasizing the importance of perseverance, vision, and the courage to break barriers in traditionally male-dominated fields.
“Leadership isn’t just about the positions we hold,” she remarked, “it’s about the influence we wield and the impact we make.”
Her message was clear: resilience isn’t about avoiding failure; it’s about rising stronger each time we fall.
The event, part of the celebrations for International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) 2024, was graced by IoDZ President, Mrs Mirriam Chiyaba, ZANACO CEO Mrs. Mukwandi Chibesakunda, Pyschotherapist Renaissance Ms. Mutale Kabumbu , Belcomm Limited CEO Dr. Mabel Mung'omba and KoBold Metals CEO Ms. Mfikeyi Makayi.
The ZWES High Tea was not just a celebration of achievements but also a rallying cry for continued progress.
