ZiCA Fellow. 2001 • IoDZ Full Member-2020 • Certified Public Policy Analyst- University of London, London Business School.2022 2.0 EXPERIENCE 2.1 BOARD EXPERIENCE AND CORPORATE GOVERNANCE • Has over 20 years board experience and about 7 years’ experience in corporate governance (CG) consultancy • Has done CG consultancy assignments for these clients: IoDZ, USAID, EU, UNIDO, Millennium Challenge Account, Ernst and Young South Africa etc. • Current Boards: IoDZ, Project Concern Zambia, Kabundi Resources Ltd/ZCCM-IH Resident Director & CEEC (credit committee of Citizen Economic Empowerment Committee). • Previous Boards: FINCA Microfinance, Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA), Association of Micro Finance in Zambia (AMIZ), Chartered Institute of management Accountants (CIMA) Zambia and CIMA Southern Africa, ZICA Committees (Taxation Committee, Membership Committee and Finance and administration), IoDZ Corporate Governance Annual awards and conference organizing committee Chairperson • Board Chair experience: Project Concern Zambia (current) and Association of Micro Finance in Zambia past President. 2.2 PROFESSIONAL BODIES BOARD AND EXECUTIVE EXPERIENCE • Has over 20 years’ experience in 3 professional bodies in Zambia and in UK/South Africa. Mostly at board and committee level but it includes an executive regional Director role at CIMA South Africa covering Africa region. • CIMA Zambia Council member (1995-2001) • Committee Member of CIMA UK membership assessment committee (2012-to 2023) • ZICA Committees (Taxation Committee, Membership Committee and Finance and Administration). 12 years’ experience. • CIMA Southern Africa (Business Development Director) 2008-9. Executive role • IoDZ Corporate Governance Annual awards and conference organizing committee Chairperson, 2021 • IoDZ Board member. 2022-2024. Chairman for membership and publicity committee. 2.3 SENIOR MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE • Has over 25 years senior management experience in roles such as CEO, Business Development Director, Strategy and Business Planning Manager, Country Financial Officer, Senior Business Advisory Manager etc • Companies include Ernst and Young Zambia and South Africa, CIMA Southern Africa, FINCA, Airtel, Digicel Papua New Guinea, PCZ etc. 3.0 VISION FOR IoDZ • Having understood IoDZ ‘s constraints by spending one term on the IoDZ board for a term I believe that IoDZ needs a phased approach to growth: deal with constraints like small revenue base, weak ICT infrastructure, improve control environment and basic business processes, attract high quality staff who are well remunerated, enact IODZ Bill and then it will be easier to achieve business goals. We can become Government’s chief advisor on Governance issues and improve our profile. • Grow IoDZ to membership of over 1,500 in the next 3 years based on quality membership growth including more youths and females and strategic corporate partnerships including other similar bodies. • Create a qualifications framework (ZAQA approved) for IoDZ with multiple product offerings and online packages including CPD offers. This is a sustainable revenue stream which provides value to members and the society. • To achieve financial sustainability, we can’t finance it from subscriptions only. We need an initial grant injection because of high set up costs. We will seek grant funding from donor partners and I have experience in that aspect. • Be more equitable and more transparent with selection of facilitators and board appointment recommendations. Introduce better policies to manage that. ✓ My experience at CIMA and ZICA which includes running a professional body and offering globally accepted professional qualifications and developing curriculums and managing membership at these professional bodies is my unique offering to IoDZ.
