Petronella Chilwesa Zyuulu |FCCA| FZICA | CGIA | PGCRM | CertIFR | CertIPSAS| CertHRM| Ms. Petronella K. K. Chilwesa Zyuulu is a seasoned Chartered Accountant 14 years of professional experience, most of which has been at Senior Management/ C-suite level. She is a fellow of ACCA and ZICA and a Chartered Global Investment Analyst (CGIA - USA). She holds a post graduate certificate in Risk Management and certificates in Leadership & Team Development and Basics of Strategic Management from the London Institute of Management. She further holds certificates in Human Resource Management and International Public Sector Accounting Standards (CertIPSAS) and is a member of the Zambia Institute of Banking and Financial Services. She has been a member of the Institute of Directors of Zambia since November 2020. She is currently working for Vivo Energy Zambia Limited as Country Finance Director and serves on its Board. She previously worked for Zambian Home Loans Limited, a non-bank financial institution, as Chief Financial Officer and Board Secretary and prior to that worked as Assistant General Manager in Charge of Finance and Administration for Advantage Insurance Limited. She decided to stand for the position of Board Member of the Institute of Directors of Zambia because she is passionate about driving positive change and being an advocate for good corporate governance. She therefore would like to contribute to the growth and success of the institute by focusing on the following three pillars: DEVELOPMENT – Becoming an advocate for the programs offered by the IoDZ in our quest to ensure that every Board room has competent Board members who understand the tenants of good corporate governance and who are committed to excellence by attending CPD events. Focus on members in middle management and equip them for future board roles through mentorship and training programs. CONNECTIONS – Work with the committees to create a supportive and empowering ecosystem where members can meet and make meaningful connections and engage in conversations that allow for the exchange of valuable insights around leadership best practices and provision of fresh perspectives. INFLUENCE – Encourage the creation of special Interest/focus groups within the IoD to serve as centres of excellence allowing us to bring together members with specific industry knowledge to share best practice, participate in topic-led discussions and influence policy and advocate for change by offering relevant feedback to decision makers in Government.
